After celebrating Fotona’s 60^th anniversary in Ljubljana, we’re excited to announce that the 15^th Laser & Health Academy Symposium (LA&HA), co-hosted by Fotona, will be returning to Slovenia’s seaside. Portorož has long been a place where innovations in laser medicine unfold, and it will once again set the stage for meaningful discussions, fueled by our shared passion for advancing the field of laser medicine.

As one of the leading events in laser medicine, the LA&HA Symposium brings together experts, researchers, and practitioners from around the world. While last year’s anniversary gathering in Ljubljana welcomed over 1,200 participants, this year’s meeting will be more exclusive due to venue capacity, ensuring a more interactive and engaging experience.

Location and Venues

Primorska Region

Slovenia’s third most visited region, Primorska, is a scenic province located in the western part of the country. It is comprised of three distinct regions: the Soča valley, Slovenia's stretch of Adriatic coastline, and the wine growing region of Goriška Brda. “Pri morju” in Slovenian means near the sea – and one of the Primorska’s main attractions is its 46 km stretch of coastline.

About Portorož

Portorož, poetically named “Port of Roses”, is the most important tourist center on the Slovenian coast. With over a century of spa tradition, a mild Mediterranean climate, and a welcoming atmosphere, it’s the ideal place for both business and leisure.

The weather in Portorož at the end of spring is pleasantly warm and not too hot. Swimming in the Adriatic Sea is often possible in late spring; however, occasional rainy days are not unheard of.

The LA&HA Symposium (May 24th–25th) will take place at the Portus Congress Centre, located within the LifeClass Hotels & Spa. This modern venue offers flexible meeting spaces, covering 1,600 square meters, with the capacity to host up to 1,000 participants. While the Centre is perfectly suited for business events, its proximity to LifeClass’s wellness facilities, the beach, and the lively atmosphere of Portorož ensures that attendees can balance work and relaxation.
